Like Chick’n Hits the Spot for Easy, High-Protein Meals

Recently, her healthy passort sampled a bunch of Like Chick’n products. In appearance, flavor and texture, the mock chicken wings, patties and fingers make a nod to the ever-popular poultry products that so many people around the world know and love. Like Chick’n challenges the idea that you have to consume animals, many that are kept in inhumane factor farm conditions, to eat familiar comfort food and get enough protein in your meals and snacks.
Like Chick’n is a subset of the Like Meat line of soy-based products sold throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. The company is fully committed to making a positive impact on the consumer goods market by promoting sustainablity, and vegan, plant-based eating with their ready made soy products.

If you’re pining for that juicy, thick wing you can sink your teeth into, take a chance on the Like Chick’n products that are avaiable for purchase on Instacart online, at 700 retails and restaurants throughout the United States, and hundreds of additional locations internationally.
Like Chick’n Wings
Like Chick’n Wings are avaiable two flavors–buffalo and BBQ. To prepare them, I simply placed the wings on a baking sheet, and baked them in the toaster oven at 350 degrees for 14 minutes. Or, you can air fry them for 10 minutes for an extra crisy finish. I soaked the packet of buffalo sauce in a bowl of warm water while the wings were cooking. Then I tossed the cooked wings in the sauce.

The result was a flavorful, satifying high protein lunch of wings, which I dipped in my homemade dairy-free ranch dressing.

I when a little overboard with the dill in this rich, tangy vegan dressing made from sunflower seeds. The color for the batch turned out bright green.

One portion (3 wings) contains 11 grams of protein. (I ate two portions). The wings are already coated with herby goodness–lots of garlic and onion powder–so they’re flavorful even without the sauce. But the trifeca combo of the preflavored wings coated in buffalo sauce then dipped in vegan ranch`dressing is kindof an outragously delicious combo you have to try.
Like Chick’n Patties
For the Like Chick’n Patty, I pan fried a defrosted patty on medium heat for 5 minutes. I toasted a burger bun, and served the patty with some sliced kosher pickles and her healthy passport dairy-free ranch dressing.

I saved this one for dinner, and ate it quickly.
I’ll be eating Like Chick’n products again soon. They’re healthy, flavorful, high in protein and easy to prepare–why not?
